Adactin India CSR

Adactin India CSR

#Adactinlegacy a foundation for Adactin CSR activities.

The Adactin India team took an initiative to spread warmth and smiles this winter season in the form of tracksuits and fun snacks to the beautiful girls at the Aanchal Balika Grah orphanage in Jaipur, Rajasthan. This Makar Sankranti (An auspicious festival) the Adactin India team carried out this initiative depicting that CSR is deeply rooted within our company and our values.  At Adactin, each member of our family believes in giving back to the community.  This year we started our initiatives with an Orphanage and we have many such projects in pipeline for the whole calendar year 2022.

When we reached out to the Orphanage carers, they subtly asked for some lowers for kids due to peak winters in North India.  Thus, the team at Adactin decided to give some warm lowers and jackets to the kids.  One of the team members, Akriti from our HR team personally went out and shopped for these clothes and then handed over to the girls on a special auspicious day.  In return, we received beautiful smiles of those young girls living in that orphanage.  The ages of those children vary from 5 years to 16 years.  The kids also prepared a nice poster saying a big thanks to Adactin team.

Adactin is very proud to name its CSR branch as Adactin Legacy which we vow to continue for the years to come.

THE ROADMAP OF GETTING INTO THE IT FIELD

The Roadmap of Getting into the IT Field

Adactin Software Training Testimonial

Meet our recent Test Analyst: Kanad Kashyap. This is the journey from a media professional, restaurateur, importer and consultant to a software tester in Australia. This is the story of Kanad Kashyap. Kanad was born and raised in India. He got his Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science) degree from India and went on to complete his MSc in computer networks from London in 2004.

He started his career as a media professional working in animation for Films and TV. While working as a media professional, along with a chef friend, he started a Café in Gurgaon, India. After which he got into the toy distribution business and started importing from China. He found himself wanting a technology-related role in-line with his studies, this led him to the role of a software development consultant.

In 2019, Kanad’s wife got an opportunity to pursue her PhD in Australia, after which the family relocated to Sydney, Australia. Kanad said,

“Excited with the new chapter in my life, I was eager to start a new career in Australia but was unsure of my options. Then a friend’s wife who was currently working in Adactin recommended me to enroll with Adactin.”

While his education and background are that of computer science, he had no prior experience in testing and hence he choose the Professional Manual Testing Program (PMTP) course at Adactin, a foundation course for individuals with little or no experience who seek to enter into the IT industry in Australia. This course covers topics like manual testing, JIRA tool, introduction to Automation, agile methodologies and much more.

“This was a natural fit for me because I had no previous experience with testing I needed a foundation course and was excited about the live project teaching approach in Adactin,” said Kanad.

“What was a little nerve-racking initially was the idea of going back to studying after 14 years gap from my previous Master’s degree. But the well-structured course and excellent support from tutors like Priyanka Singh soon replaced the daunting challenge to an exciting learning experience” – he further added.

With the foundations under your belt, the natural step forward is to prepare yourself for the workforce and this was also what Kanad did and enrolled for the two months traineeship program. This program includes a structured program and an extension to classroom training providing participants with real work experience on an interesting project. With added benefits of free workshops on interview skills, resume preparation resource, mock interview and access to mentorship and subject matter experts. Adactin provides all the resources/support you need to land a job including a reference letter at the end of your contract.

“Apart from the live projects and classroom training, the program was very self-driven and pro-active in the sense we got as much we put into it, this enabled me to focus on learning what I enjoyed and got me exploring new concepts in testing like functional testing. Another value boost of the program was the grooming support directly from the CEO, Navneesh Garg and COO, Sapna Bhatia. I had always been on the other side of the interview table conducting interviews and selecting candidates for my business, but now being an interviewee I welcomed the much-needed support from Adactin”

“Even amidst the current global economic and health environmental conditions I was fortunate enough to land a full-time job as a Functional tester with a work from home arrangement due to start on the 18th of May 2020, all thanks to the great people behind Adactin. To anyone who is considering to enter into the IT industry regardless of your experience or lack of it, I would highly recommend you to consider Adactin Group but my only word of caution is be prepared for the hard work because you only get what you put into it.”

Refocus your WFH routine

It’s time to mix it up and reflect on your WFH routine

The idea of rolling out of your bed, walking to your kitchen, making a cup of coffee and walking down the hallway and then being in your office can be incredibly attractive. Working from home has a lot of perks, but just like Uncle Ben said to Peter Parker (from Spiderman) “With great power comes great responsibility”, we must remain vigilant and disciplined, of course, occasional goofing around is advised.

For most of us, who are fortunate enough to be working from home, this is a new experience. This experience comes with unbelievable perks, such as being your own boss; except for our better half, little and not so little bundle(s) of joy. Plus with the social restrictions, there is certainly no place like home.

Put some clothes on

Yes, one of the perks of WFH is wearing anything and being comfortable in our own familiar space. However, the idea is not to dress to showcase your finest linen but rather the mindset it brings to the table. You will be surprised at the difference it makes to switch your beast work mode on.

Sit on your work throne

While it may be very tempting to work from your cosy bed or sofa,DON’T! In pursuit of creating a positive environment, it is crucial to have a designated workspace. Not only is it more ergonomic but also a great source of creating a productive environment for work. No wonder everyone at Westeros was after the coveted Iron throne.

Follow your schedule

We are all prone to distractions, wandering minds are not uncommon for all of us. Needless to say, this can get in the way of our responsibilities. Simply setting a schedule is as good as a piece of paper hanging on the wall, being our boss means we must be disciplined enough to follow through. Be sure to also set aside adequate time for breaks and recuperate lost energy, to avoid burnouts. Here are some tools to get you started Trello, Clickup, Monday, Sling.

Let’s get talking

WFH has many perks but it can get lonely at times. The office is not only a place for work but is also a major part of our social life. Classic office debates about shows, latest news or viral phenomenon are a welcome distraction to break up the working day where time allows. This helps elevate the much-needed pressure off from work, creates bonds and relationships. However, working from home has created a physical barrier to such interactions.

Virtual lunches, coffee break chats or team catch-ups are ways around this barrier. This can be separate from your regular team meetings, and can simply chat over a coffee and talk about what’s happening in your life as you would in the office. Ideally, avoid talking about potentially negative news subjects – keep it upbeat and social. And on Friday evenings you can have a team informal catch-up session to quickly discuss the week’s activities, share jokes, personal achievements and plans.

Balance it out

Turning on your internal switch may be a challenging task in itself but what can be equally challenging with WFH arrangements is switching off and going back to your personal life.

If you really enjoy your work, your mind like all good things tends to say “keep working”. You are right there you might as well get the work done, right? This unclear line between work and life can be a dangerous thing, It can result in burnouts and lead to neglecting your responsibilities as a family member. Plus with the social restrictions, it is important to be in a balanced mental and physical stage, and yes don’t be too hard on yourself and remember we are all in this together.

Add these aspects to your WFH routine, mix it up and take the next step in productivity and positivity!
